There are a lot of great family friendly destinations in Washington State. If you’re wanting a beach vacation where you feel you’ve really gotten away from the stress and pressure of every day life, one of the best places to go is the tiny community of Moclips.
Moclips sits about a half hour or so north of Ocean Shores and is right on the coastline where the small Moclips River flows into the sea. Moclips is a tiny town with few places to eat or buy anything. This isn’t a negative part of staying there, in fact, it is a positive. This is a sleepy little beach town that seems to have found a way to not be overrun by tourists and tourist activities.
During a recent visit to this fun little town, we had the pleasure of staying at Robbin’s Nest. This is a comfortable and welcoming vacation cottage that sits very near the ocean and the sand. Robbin’s Nest has more than enough to make sure that you have one of the best times you ever have on the Washington Coast.
Robbin’s Nest is a two bedroom, two bathroom, cottage with a full deck and backyard that make spending time outside perfect. The outdoor fire pit was one of our favorites as we had a little campfire every night we were there. The kids just loved that! On the one day we were on the coast when we had rain, Robbin’s Nest came through again as we were able to stay indoors and have plenty to occupy ourselves.
Another of the nice things about staying at Robbin’s Nest is how close you are to everything else. We buzzed down to Seabrook for dinner one evening, took a short drive up the coast to Lake Quinault and Kalaloch one day which was a lot of fun. We even made it down to Ocean Shores so the kids could play some video games and try out the bumper boats.
In the end, our favorite times were on the beach at Moclips and staying so close right there in Robbin’s Nest made it all that much better. It didn’t take long for us to fee extremely comfortable in this friendly little vacation getaway.
